Picturing America
Over 100 public libraries and K-12 schools across the state have received NEH's Picturing America exhibition. The exhibition tells the history of America through
classic artwork.
The Big Read Egypt 2008-2009
The South Dakota Center for the Book is one of four organizations to host The Big Read Egypt. The book for this program is "The Thief and the Dogs" by Naguib Mahfouz. The Humanities Council
invites South Dakota organizations to apply to bring this program to your community.
Between Fences
SDHC presents the Smithsonian exhibit BETWEEN FENCES, coming to the state in September 2008. The exhibition will be shown in Pollock
(Pollock Visitor and Interpretive Center, Nov. 8-Dec. 21), Brookings (SD Ag Heritage Museum, Dec. 27-Feb. 8), Chamberlain (SD Hall of Fame, Feb. 14-March 29), Sturgis (Sturgis
Public Library, April 4-May 19) and Howard (Miner County Rural Life Museum, May 23-July 4).
